AMHSA is Canada’s first IACET Accredited Health and Safety Association Provider!
On August 1, 2024, AMHSA became an International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) Accredited Provider. Through an extensive process that took over three years to complete, AMHSA is the first health, safety and environment association (HSE) in Canada to receive this accreditation. IACET is recognized as the continuing education and training ‘gold standard’ in North America. Over time, existing AMHSA courses will be reviewed against IACET standards and those that qualify will receive accreditation. Going forward, new HSE offerings will be developed following IACET’s rigorous standards.
The Gold Standard
IACET Accreditation marks a major milestone in AMHSA’s evolution. The IACET Standard is a universal model for learning process excellence. It defines a proven model for developing effective and valuable continuing education and training programs by measuring a provider’s training program from procedure to process to result. Established in 1968, IACET developed the original Continuing Education Unit (CEU) and ensures that providers of continuing education and training such as AMHSA can prove they provide high quality instruction by following the ANSI/IACET 2018-1 Standard for Continuing Education and Training through a rigorous accreditation process.

WHY IACET?
AMHSA is the first health and safety association in Canada to achieve IACET accreditation. In its mission to provide high value meaningful education programs for members, AMHSA explored several options before pursuing IACET accreditation. Despite the significant commitment and demand on resources required to achieve Accredited Provider status by a relatively small organization, AMHSA determined that the IACET Standard provides the best solution to ensuring the highest quality education and training experience for members, validated by an internationally recognized third party.
